January 22, 2013 this is some stuff i wrote tonight, that’s all

my mother texts me to say it is snowing and i close the text message and don’t look outside

i fold a paper crane out of a small square of blue paper with my eyes closed and put it in a jar with other paper cranes of different colors

there is some money in the jar too

my friend sends me an email and i read it and cry a little and decide to wait till tomorrow to reply

am i in proximity to someone who is also sitting in bed listening to the weakerthans, and if so, how do i find them?

i should wash this sweater, just the sleeves, bits of my face are in it

some people cut themselves to have control over something; i just clean my room

December 22, 2012 5 haiku for people i loved before the end of the world

5 haiku for people I loved before the end of the world.

i.
We loved, then dissolved.
It took us a decade, but
we’re right back to us.

ii.
You tell everyone
I was the one who killed us.
Please leave me alone.

iii.
I hope you’re happy.
I’m still thinking about you.
It’s funny, really.

iv.
I wish Chicago
was not twelve hours away.
We could have been great.

v.
I still feel eighteen
when I fall asleep with you.
We should stay like this.

December 12, 2012 PLATINUM HITS + a BLONDIE tribute + HOUSEFIRE ebook

Megan Lent and Riley Michael Parker at HOUSEFIRE have put together a Blondie themed ebook titled ‘PLATINUM HITS‘ and were awesome enough to include me. I have a piece named after the Blondie song ‘(I’m Always Touched By Your) Presence, Dear’.

The book also features work from Frances Dinger, Jess Dutschmann, Chelsea Martin, yt sumner, Paige Gresty, Penny Goring and Meghan Lamb. Neat.
